Express KCS brings high end premedia offshoring to the USA
Pittsburgh PA, February 2005

Express KCS LLC, Media backoffice, has established a US client service center with the recruitment of James Anderson, formerly of EFI (NASDAQ:EFII). Pursuing Express KCS' philosophy of providing offshore services while giving clients a local point of reference, James' role is to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day communications between US clients and fulfillment in India. James brings much premedia and software experience from working with major publishers and corporations such as Primedia, Bank of America, Marriott and Bristol Myers Squibb. He also project managed EFI's enterprise-wide print procurement system implementations, including a company-wide roll-out at one of Australia's largest financial institutions, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, in Sydney, Australia.

Tariq Husain, Express KCS’ founder Director has joined forces with Robert Berkeley, formerly a Vice President of Printcafe Software, Inc. “Robert and I have established a sales and account handing operation to ensure that all clients receive the highest level of service, and to ease contractual negotiations”, says Tariq, “So far, interest has been considerable, with people most keen to know whether an Indian supplier can deliver the quality that western companies are used to.”

“Quality is often a question in people’s minds” admits Robert Berkeley, “at least at first. However, we source exclusively from Express Colour Scan (see below), and when I produce our portfolio of work, its clear that Nike and Honda’s demands are every bit the same in India as they are here. Then its the pricing that gets people excited.” As all prepress work is carried out at facilities around India, Express KCS’s clients can take adv-

antage of a lower cost base; the internet ensures immediate transmission of files and the optional workflow system gives transparency.

“Our intention is to work with existing European suppliers of prepress services to corporations, agencies and publishers”, says Berkeley. “Having successfully carried out some tests in December and January, we expect to go live with our first clients this quarter.”

Express KCS have also already developed software applications for European clients. Their team of developers are highly experienced in the graphic arts, having been asked to produce full MIS systems and DAM software, as well as small database applications and reports.
